NEW SCREEN PRINT - Bolehills View

My ✨shiny new screenprint✨ is now live on my Etsy shop!

This is one I’ve thought about for a long time. I used to live right near it - a beautiful, vast, complicated view that seemed too intimidating to say I would draw one day. But finally, I did! Please say hello to my ‘Bolehills View’.

A limited edition of just 60 with four colours - each one printed by hand. Available to buy here.

PUBLISHING DAY for Step Up: My Anti-Bullying Activity Book

It is 🎉PUBLISHING DAY🎉 for Step Up: My Anti-Bullying Activity Book!

This is the fourth in the series that I illustrated, by Upside Down Books at @welbeckpublish and on a topic that’s very close to my heart.

I was bullied in secondary school and I ended up moving schools because of it. Nowadays, children are learning from a younger age about things like feelings, kindness and friendships, leading to better awareness of mental health. I hope this means that they are less likely to bully or be bullied, but of course, it still happens and at any age - from young kids learning about how to treat others, to adults in workplaces or relationships.

I hope books like this will plant little seeds for healthy friendships, communication and confidence, while being a lovely activity book that’s packed with fun things to do!

NEW CHRISTMAS CARDS - My new lettering designs for 2022

Hello! I thought I'd share with you some new designs new to my shop this week. I know it's super early (I'm sorry!), but some eager beavers have been asking if I have any new Christmas card designs this year. The answer is yes and they arrived this week!

I'm excited about the new lettering designs, they were so much fun to work on! Plus, a new Hendo's card for the hardcore relish fans!

These are now live on my Etsy shop! Thanks for looking. Hope you have a great week!

SHOP NEWS - New Icons Range

Hello there!

Welcome to an autumnal update (how is it that time already?!) I hope you had a lovely summer. Mine has gone all too quickly and I’m really not ready to let go yet, but I am looking forward to a few things about autumn… making lots of soup, seeing pretty piles of orange leaves (gotta love those Sheffield trees!) and a chance to tidy the garden without it growing back a week later. It’s the little things, int it?!

So, on to NEW WORK!

I had some requests recently for Rotherham and Barnsley pieces, which has led to the creation of my new ‘Icons’ range of prints - they are live on my Etsy shop now.

I'm excited about this new range, they have a bit of a different look to my other prints and I can't wait to get them into my stockists! Alongside the new Rotherham and Barnsley illustrations sit Sheffield and Yorkshire - you might recognise the illustrations from my Yorkshire and Sheff Life tote bags and mugs.

That’s it from me today, hope you have a lovely evening!

GLASTONBURY CAKE - My latest creation!

Thought I would share a different kind of creative project I worked on recently...

Recently we celebrated 40 years of wonderful Lee, my lovely other half who totally deserved a super special cake!

Glastonbury Festival is Lee’s favourite place and always happens around his birthday, so even though the festival was last month, it seemed like the perfect theme for his cake.

I got the plain iced green and blue tiers delivered (baking the cake myself would have been a step too far!) and I had my illustrations printed on to icing. I also had some help from a friend who helped make lots of excellent fondant tents for me when I was getting short on time! I constructed the pyramid stage myself from a tesco loaf cake, which is why it’s rather bumpy and of which I am still proud!

My previous experience of cake decorating consisted solely of sticking smarties or sprinkles on to runny icing, so I really didn’t see it as an option at first to decorate it myself… but as my ideas formed and I knew how I wanted it, I decided to just give it a go myself!

The birthday boy loved his cake… and I’m still enjoying eating it :)

SCOUTS UK - New illustration

I recently did an illustration for Scouts UK! It was about building a 'wellbeing box'. Thinking about what you'd put in yours is a good way to recognise how you can do some self care. We all need it sometimes and to treat ourselves the way we would a friend.

In my wellbeing box, I would include my swimming costume, a notebook for writing positive lists and a jar of peanut butter. You can see the Scouts post here (Instagram) or here (Twitter).

SKETCHBOOK FUN - Get Together Festival Fashion Report

Here it is, my Get Together Fashion Report! I wasn’t planning on doing one when we were at the festival the other week (not that my fashion reports have ever been planned) but when I saw this fabulous lady stood in front of us in these mesmerising patterned trousers, inspiration struck and I felt a fash report coming on!
